This first season will focus on a crucial period for the bloodline that has ruled Westeros for centuries: the reign of Viserys I and the civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons..

While Considine will play Viserys, Matt Smith – known for his role as Philip of Edinburgh in the first two installments of The crown- He will put himself in the shoes of his younger brother, Prince Daemon Targaryen. Meanwhile, Toussaint’s character is Lord Corlys Velaryon, also known as The Sea Snake, and Cooke and Ifans will play Queen Alicent Hightower and her father Otto, Hand of the King of Viserys, respectively, as well as the predecessor – and grandfather – of the latter, Jaehaerys I.

Actress Emma D’Arcy will play Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, the king’s eldest daughter, “pure Valyrian blood” and “rider of dragons”, who faces a difficult challenge,

In an interview he gave in January of this year to the independent, the actor who played Tyrion Lannister in The iron Throne, revealed what he expects from the prequel. “I think the key is not to imitate The iron Throne. If you try to do this, it will seem like you only care about money. For many sequels, the reason they came about is because the original series made a lot of money, and that’s why they don’t usually air.. As for me, I can’t wait to see the dragon housefrom a simple place of spectator, and not knowing what will happen to the story,” said the multiple Emmy winner for his personification in the creation of David Benioff and DB Weiss.

It must be remembered that the dragon house is just one of the many spin-offs of OBTAINED. that HBO is preparing, in its attempt to fully exploit this brand and take on its competitors in the so-called “streaming war”. So far, Martin is known to be involved in at least six other productions, one of which – based on his series of novels titled The Tales of Dunk and Egg– is still in the early stages of development.
